A Place For Me is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization that was founded by Elaine Reeves-Haywood in response
to the lack of services for children with autism and their families on the south side of Chicago, Illinois.
A Place
For Me offers consultation services for family and ongoing support for those affected by autism.
We are committed
to helping parents and their children achieve their potential.
In addition to consulting with families, we offer
training classes that can be customized to meet the needs of the individual .
Children, youth, and young adults
with autism do not always have opportunities for developing social interactions with peers and others in their community.
A Place For Me offers these opportunites by hosting social events such as a Family Skating Party, Bowling Party, and Sock
Hop.
We know the struggles that parents can face in advocating for appropriate education for their children. A
Place For Me is committed to helping navigate the pathway by assisting with meaningful Individual Education Plans. We also
assist in advocating for special education services for those who need the services.

Our Vision
We envision a learning center for children with autism in the underserved south side of Chicago which provides training,
social skills programming and afterschool care. Our goal is to raise the funds to support the purchase of real estate to house
the learning center and offer a permanent location for those with autism to say, there's "A Place For Me".
