Who We Are
A Place For Me  is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization that was founded in 2002 by Elaine Reeves-Haywood in response to the lack of services for children with autism and their families on the south side of Chicago, Illinois.

What We Do
A Place For Me offers consultation services for individuals and  families and ongoing support for those affected by autism. We know the struggles that parents can face in advocating for appropriate education for their children. A Place For Me is committed to helping navigate the pathway by assisting with meaningful Individual Education Plans.

Our Commitment
We are committed to helping parents and their children achieve their potential.

Our Vision
We envision a learning center for children with autism in the underserved south side of Chicago which provides training, social skills programming and afterschool care. Our goal is to raise the funds to support the purchase of real estate to house the learning center and offer a permanent location for those with autism to say, there's "A Place For Me".

Fun, Family and  Friendships
Autism can be isolating for kids and their families. Children, youth, and young adults with autism do not always have opportunities for developing social interactions with peers and others in their community. A Place For Me offers these opportunites by hosting social events such as a Family Skating Party, Bowling Party, and Sock Hop.
